What is a third space?

A space "in-between" where new possibilities, connections, and meanings emerge

Libraries, Theaters, Community centers are fighting to serve this purpose. Doverlane emerges from this.

In an age of social fragmentation and digital isolation, there is a renewed desire for shared experience.

Doverlane is rooted in the idea of community and culture.

We’re on a journey to build a creative third space for our locals that holds a microcinema + art + music + food + conversation.

Movies are our entryway to formative community. This is the evolution of the third space.

We’re building from the ground up starting with pop up events and screenings while we work our way to a permanent space.

Sohini And Nancy

Co-Founders

We’re two Angelenos whose paths converged at Netflix. We have proved out careers as entertainment creative advertising executives and share a love for filmed storytelling. Our lived experiences yield appreciation for sharing culture and perspectives, especially in our work.

We’ve seen our city and our industry go through massive change and we’re determined to help reshape its future. We care deeply about the business, the art form, its role in the lives of our friends, neighbors and future generations. So we’re moving beyond cynicism and into action. We see an opportunity to create a symbiotic relationship between art and commerce. To rebalance. To transform consumption into engagement and transaction into connection.

Doverlane is the deeper work we’re contributing to our beloved city and industry.
